We're looking for a Digital Marketing Officer (Content and Social) to join our Marketing and Communications team at The City of Liverpool College. This is a creative, audience-facing role that sits at the centre of how we tell the College's story.
You'll own our organic social media channels, plan and create content that engages prospective and current students, and manage community interactions day to day. You'll work closely with our Digital Content Creator to shape campaigns and content across platforms.
We are looking for someone who understands what makes content land: someone who is a confident public speaker with the ability to command a room, has a sharp eye for a good story, and is confident both in front of the camera and behind it. You'll become a familiar face across our channels, comfortable interviewing students, colleagues and partners to find the stories worth telling.
Key Responsibilities Social media and community management
Plan, create, and schedule organic social media content across our channels as part of the annual integrated media plan, maintaining a consistent and engaging presenceActively manage community engagement, monitoring and responding to comments, conversations, and mentions in line with College brand guidanceProduce and adapt content natively for each platform, including short-form video for Tik Tok, Instagram, and other emerging formatsIdentify and pursue opportunities to grow reach, build audience, and tell the College's story authentically across platformsSupport the management of sponsored and boosted social content in collaboration with the Digital Marketing Officer (Paid and Performance)Content and storytelling
Find, develop, and publish student, staff, and alumni stories that bring the College's impact to life across digital channelsPresent and interview for video content, drawing out stories from students, staff and partners as the recognisable face of our channelsShoot and edit social-first video for reels, stories and other short-form formats, working quickly and independently to capture content as it happensWork closely with the Digital Content Creator to plan and commission photography and video assets, ensuring content is fit for purpose across channelsWrite engaging, student-focused copy for social media, digital campaigns, and the website, aligned to the College's tone of voice and brand guidelinesIdentify content opportunities proactively, building relationships with curriculum teams and student-facing staff across the CollegeManage a content calendar that reflects the academic year, key recruitment milestones, and planned campaignsProvide occasional cover for wider photography and video capture in Digital Content Creator's absenceCampaign support
Contribute to the planning and delivery of integrated student recruitment campaigns, providing social and content expertiseWork alongside the Digital Marketing Officer (Paid and Performance) to ensure organic and paid activity are aligned and complementaryCollaborate with our creative agency on campaign content, providing direction on organic social and briefing content requirementsDevelop a working familiarity with the team's paid media activity, including an understanding of campaign objectives and audience targeting, to support joined-up…
