This is a permanent position.
Main duties of the jobApplicants should beable to work in a busy environment and be confident in the following clinical skills:
- Chronic Disease Management
- Dressings
- Removal of Sutures
- ECGs
- Memory assessments
- Venepuncture
- Blood pressure measurements
- Routine Adult and Childhood Imms
- Cervical Screening
- Travel Health Advice
- Chaperoning Duties
- Requesting basic pathology tests, for example urine culture,swabs
- Assisting with other clinical duties
Applicants must have excellent inter-personal skills and have a great attention to detail.
A minimum of 2 years experience in Primary careis essential.
About usWe are looking for a Practice Nurse to join our teamhere at Penny's Hill Practice. We are based in Ferndown Town Centre in walking distance to all amenities and the local supermarket. The practice shares the purpose built premises with Orchid House Surgery with a range of community services also being provided from attached facilities.
Pennys Hill Practice is a six partner practice providinga range of primary care and community health services from Ferndown Medical Centre. We run a personal list system for our 6 GP's and have approximately 7500 patients registered with us. We also have 2 practice nurses, 1
Phlebotomist, 1 Phlebotomist / HCA, 1 tracker nurse / HCA and our reception team.

Person Specification Experience- Experience of Microsoft office software
- Experience of dealing with the public/patients
- 2 years + experience in primary care
- Up to date with the following skills: cervical screening, dressings, wound care and leg ulcer care
- Experience of Systm One clinical system
- Leadership and management experience
- Good standard of general education
- GCSE mathematics or equivalent
- GCSE English or equivalent
- A Degree in Nursing or equivalent
- Registered with the NMC
- A demonstrable commitment to professional development
- An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality
- Ability to use own judgement, resourcefulness and common sense
- Ability to work without direct supervision and determine own workload priorities
- Ability to work as part of an integrated multi-skilled team
- Pleasant and articulate
- Able to work under pressure
- Able to work in a changing environment
- Able to use own initiative
- Flexibility of working hours/ability to work at desired times
- Competent in Practice Nurse duties required for the post
