Role Overview

We’re on the lookout for a Deputy Head Nurse to join our nursing team s role assists the Head Nurse in driving the efficiency, effectiveness, governance and continuous improvement of the clinical activities within the surgery. You’ll have excellent communication skills and thrive on a varied caseload.

Our full‑time nurses typically work a 4‑day week (9‑hour shifts), covering consulting, inpatient and surgical duties. The weekend rota follows a 1‑in‑4 pattern, with duty nights on rotation.

Assist the Head Nurse in managing day‑to‑day clinical operations, including patient care, staffing, and resource allocation.

Support continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring good governance and high standards of clinical care.

Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines, fostering teamwork and supporting professional development.

Strong communication abilities and a team‑player attitude.

Experience or interest in supervising clinical staff and managing clinical activities.
