Deputy Ward Nurse Manager – Ward 25 (Band 6 | Part Time)
An opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Ward Nurse Manager position on Ward 25, a busy 36-bedded acute general medical ward. The role involves supporting the Ward Nurse Manager in their absence and maintaining high-quality patient standards when working without direct supervision.
Key responsibilities include the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, effective leadership and staff management and development, and working within the NMC’s Code of Professional Conduct.
In addition, the Deputy Ward Nurse Manager will ensure operational plans and performance are closely managed, proactively leading and providing solutions to complex operational issues, in accordance with Trust objectives and resources, escalating issues that cannot be resolved.

We invite experienced, motivated and independently minded Band 5 and Band 6 registered nurses who can act on their own initiative within agreed guidelines. Candidates should adopt a values‑led, ‘can do’ leadership style within a climate of change and uncertainty, to implement and manage plans and performance relating to quality, care and compassion, under the direction of the Ward Manager and the professional leadership of the Clinical Matron.
