Overview

Band 6 Podiatrist – a key member of a small, friendly and dynamic team delivering specialist podiatric care, including MSK podiatry, rheumatology, footwear clinics, triage services, nail surgery and inpatient support at Broadgreen.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate podiatric care for complex MSK foot and ankle conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Provide specialist podiatry input in rheumatology, footwear clinics, triage services and nail surgery.
  • Offer supervised clinical support to the Diabetes Podiatry Team and collaborate with physiotherapy, orthotics and orthopaedics.
  • Develop and deliver podiatric care packages for patients with diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, peripheral vascular disease and other high‑risk conditions.
  • Contribute to service development, clinical audit and research initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
  • Engage in clinical education of staff and students, supporting their CPD through workshops and supervision.
Qualifications & Experience
  • BSc Hons Podiatry, Diploma in Podiatric Medicine or equivalent, with HCPC registration.
  • Local Anaesthesia certificate.
  • Proven experience in MSK podiatry, foot and ankle services, diabetes podiatry, and rheumatology clinics.
  • Hands‑on surgical experience – nail surgery, orthotic prescription, wound management and vascular assessment.
  • Demonstrated post‑graduation experience and a strong record of multidisciplinary teamwork.
Skills & Competencies
  • Highly developed physical and surgical skills with a focus on podiatric MSK interventions.
  • Clinical reasoning and decision‑making in complex clinical situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication. Good time‑management and organisational skills.
  • Computer literacy, presentation skills and experience supervising staff or students.
