Deputy Ward Manager - ECC ward

An exciting opportunity has arisen here at Aintree for a dynamic Deputy Ward Manager to join our existing Day Surgical team, to support our busy Day surgical Ward, assisting the Theatre lead in overseeing the daily clinical, operational and financial management of a fast-paced unit, providing clinical excellence & Nursing leadership where experience in surgical nursing and specifically nurse led discharge is a necessity.

• Operational Leadership:
  Manage the day-to-day running of the ward, coordinate patient admission and discharge, and ensure appropriate staffing levels and safe skill mixes.
• Clinical Excellence:
  Act as a visible clinical leader, guiding junior staff, assessing complex care needs, and deputising for the Theatre Manager in their absence.

  Champion a personalised, seamless patient journey from pre-op assessment through to post-operative recovery and discharge.
• Governance & Audit:
  Lead on clinical governance by conducting audits, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with local and national healthcare standards.
• Staff Development:
  Facilitate training, perform appraisals, and support the continuous professional development of the nursing team.
