Registered Veterinary Nurse

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Holmefield Vets on a part-time 10-month contract.

Holmefield Veterinary Clinic is a friendly, long-established 100% small animal practice with an experienced and loyal team. We have a strong, inclusive culture where everyone is encouraged to follow their interests and be the best version of themselves. Recent achievements within our nursing team, including completion of the Vets Now Emergency and Critical Care Certificate, reflect our commitment to learning, development, and clinical excellence.

Our main site is located in the beautiful village of Brayton, with a smaller branch practice in Sherburn-in-Elmet. We are based in a semi-rural area of North Yorkshire, offering a fantastic lifestyle balance with excellent transport links. Selby provides regular direct trains to London, Manchester, and Leeds, and we are just a 20-minute drive from York.

Practice Highlights

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

• Part-time, 30 hours per week
• Working various shifts Monday to Friday
• 1 in 8 Saturdays working 8.30am - 1.30pm
• No OOH requirement

We’re looking for a confident and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working as part of a team and delivering high standards of care. You’ll bring:

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
• Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
• A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
