SHEQ Advisor - Contract
North West | £500-£550 per day | 1-2 days per week | 6-month contract
We are currently looking for an experienced SHEQ Advisor to support an established project team in the North West on a contract basis.
This is an opportunity for a practical, site-focused SHEQ professional to provide advice, assurance and support across Safety, Health, Environment and Quality within a live project environment.

Initially 6 months, with potential to extend - Working pattern: 1-2 days per week
- Rate: £500-£550 per day
- Level: SHEQ Advisor
- Vetting:
Candidates must be able to successfully complete SZC security vetting
As SHEQ Advisor, you will provide competent advice and support to the project and site teams, helping to maintain high standards across safety, health, environment and quality.
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing competent SHEQ advice and guidance to project and site teams
- Supporting the implementation and monitoring of SHEQ procedures and standards
- Undertaking site inspections, audits and compliance checks
- Identifying risks and recommending appropriate control measures
- Supporting incident investigations and corrective actions
- Monitoring contractor and project compliance
- Reviewing RAMS and safe systems of work
- Promoting a positive SHEQ culture across the project
- Producing and reviewing SHEQ documentation and reports
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Working closely with operational and management teams to maintain high SHEQ standards
We are looking for an experienced SHEQ professional with:
- Proven experience in a SHEQ Advisor role or similar
- Experience with in construction, engineering or another high-risk environment
- Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental requirements
- An understanding of quality management and assurance processes
- A practical, site-focused approach
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
- The ability to work independently and provide credible SHEQ advice
- Relevant SHEQ qualifications, such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent
- The ability to successfully obtain SZC security clearance/vetting
- £500-£550 per day
- 1-2 days per week
- Initial 6-month contract
- Potential for the assignment to extend
- Potential for increased involvement/hours as the project develops
