Salary - Valuer chair: £633.96 per day (£652.14 if London weighting applies). Valuer Member: £395.94 per day.

The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) has been asked to identify candidates to recommend for the posts of Fee-paid Valuer Chair and Fee-paid Valuer Members for the First-tier Tribunal, Property Chamber, Residential Property.
It is hoped that Valuer Chairs and Valuer Members will be able to sit for 30 days a year.
About the TribunalThe Residential Property Chamber of the First-tier Tribunal has over 100 jurisdictions including the following:
- Disputes about private sector rents under the Housing Act 1988.
- Disputes about residential leasehold management, including payability and reasonableness of service charges under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985.
- Enfranchisement and lease extensions under the Leasehold Reform Act 1967 and the Leasehold Reform Housing and Urban Development Act 1993.
- Appeals against local authority notices regarding the condition of a property and other matters under the Housing Act 2004.
- Rent Repayment Orders under the Housing and Planning Act 2016.
The Chamber currently deals with over 10,000 cases a year. This is expected to increase considerably following the newly enacted Renters’ Rights Act 2025.
It has five regional areas in England:
London, Southern, Eastern, Northern and Midland. Each region is headed by a Regional Judge, with a Regional Surveyor
