We are seeking an exceptional and highly motivated researcher with expertise in exploratory synthesis to join a multidisciplinary programme focused on the discovery of crystalline inorganic materials that have fundamentally new structures.

The successful candidate will join the ERC Advanced Grant project, MaterED (Materials Discovery: from Exploration towards Design), led by Professor Matt Rosseinsky OBE FRS, who is a world leading chemist in the discovery of functional inorganic materials. The project integrates experimental synthesis, advanced characterisation, and computational modelling to enable structure-driven materials discovery, targeting systems with unconventional atomic arrangements and emergent properties, and is inspired by the recent discovery of a new family of super ionic lithium ion conductor (
