The University of Liverpool is seeking an enthusiastic early-career researcher to join its academic community as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Grade7
. This fixed-term, full-time appointment offers a stimulating environment to engage in impactful scholarly work within one of the UK’s leading research institutions. The post is funded through an externally supported programme focused on producing high-quality evidence and advancing understanding in a defined research domain. As part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will contribute to rigorous research activities, participate in methodological development and support the generation of scholarly outputs that drive scientific progress.
This role involves working alongside experienced researchers and stakeholders to carry out critical research functions, including data analysis, synthesis activities, interpretation of findings, and contributions to written materials such as reports and publications. The successful postholder will be positioned within a supportive research culture that prioritises academic excellence, intellectual curiosity and collaboration.
Eligibility CriteriaApplicants must hold a PhD (or equivalent doctoral qualification) in a relevant discipline
, or be close to achieving the award of their doctorate at the time of application, demonstrating a strong foundation in research principles and methodology.
- Proven ability to conduct independent research at postdoctoral level.
- Experience in research design, data analysis and interpretation relevant to the project area.
- Strong communication skills for engaging in scholarly writing and contributing to collaborative research activities.

This position is offered on Grade7
, with a salary range that typically reflects UK research associate pay scales for early-career postdoctoral staff (approximately £39,906 to £46,049 per annum
, subject to specific institutional scales).
