• Managing the car parks on a day-to-day basis, ensuring clear access for emergency services and reporting infringements of the Trust’s car park policy.
• Communicating effectively with hospital personnel and site users, providing accurate information orally and in writing.
• Linking face‑to‑face with all site users to ensure understanding of parking options and restrictions, using tact and persuasion when necessary.
• Assisting with access to hospital buildings, directing visitors and supporting relatives bringing in seriously ill persons.
• Providing advice and assistance on car parking issues and way‑finding.
• Using a two‑way radio to communicate with colleagues.
• Monitoring all car parks, ensuring enforcement of parking restrictions using a computer‑based system for issuing Parking Charge Notices, patrolling thoroughfares and responding to calls.
• Keeping all red routes clear at all times.
• Managing pay station maintenance, cash collection, and technical audits.
• Continuously monitoring the car‑park environment to ensure service quality and performance.
• Acting independently, prioritising workload, and raising issues affecting service quality.
• Undertaking ad‑hoc duties as prescribed by the manager.

• GCSE or equivalent.
• Experience of working within a team, on own initiative, and with the public.

• Good verbal communication skills.

• Good understanding of Health and Safety.
• Knowledge of car parking systems.

• Willingness to learn.
• Flexibility.
