Area Commissioning Electrician

About The Role

As our electrical teams grow, we invite applications for the position of Commissioning Electrician to cover our North West Region. Specialising in commissioning electrical installs, the ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful commissioning and functionality testing of pumping systems while adhering to safety standards and project deadlines. This role requires meticulous documentation skills, effective communication with customers, and thorough testing of system functionality.

• Complete commissioning activities for pump system installs, including level controllers, flow meters, inverters, control valves, generators, and Programmable Logic Controllers.
• Document commissioning procedures, system configurations, and parameters onto electrical commissioning reports and the internal intranet to keep information up to date for future projects.
• Perform functional testing of pumping systems to ensure proper operation and adherence to manufacturers and company specifications.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and departments to resolve installation issues or discrepancies, and demonstrate correct ways of working to prevent repeat errors.
• Provide comprehensive job handover to customers, including safe system operation, field training, documentation, and commissioning pack.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and control system issues to meet customer requirements.

• JIB Registered (ECS card Holder)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• NVQ Level 3 as a minimum
• ECS Card to installer standard

• Previous experience in an electrical commissioning role
• Skilled in deciphering electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings; able to translate information into actionable solutions
• Proven ability to foster continuous learning and professional growth within the team
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, including motors, controllers, and instrumentation
• Practical and technical experience with 3-phase systems
• Proficient in drafting commissioning reports and recording test results for internal and external audiences
• Knowledge of BS 7671, BS EN 60204, and Health and Safety at Work Act
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Effective verbal and written communication with team members and customers
• Experience with pumping system brands or manufacturers
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and control system integration
• Knowledge of energy efficiency principles in pumping systems
• Strong self-management and prioritisation to meet deadlines
