We have an exciting opportunity for a Criminal Justice Team Leader with the skills and experience to support and develop our Criminal Justice offer at CGL River. The successful candidate will manage a team of Criminal Justice Recovery Coordinators to support clients involved in the Criminal Justice System and work closely with partner agencies.

As a Criminal Justice Team Leader you will develop pathways between Criminal Justice Agencies, both in the community and within the prison service, to support seamless continuity of care. You will support service users subject to court orders such as ATR, RAR, DRR and prescribed clients released from custody. You will line‑manage recovery coordinators and collaborate with the opiate, engagement and alcohol team leaders to ensure cohesive team working.
Evening and weekend shifts are expected.
- Partnership Working – Work in partnership with Criminal Justice Agencies (police, probation, court staff, liaison and diversion partners) to develop pathways and mutual ways of working to achieve the best outcomes for service users.
- Service Development – Work with partners to increase accessibility to treatment for those involved in the criminal justice system, including custody, out‑of‑court disposals, prison releases with problematic alcohol use, and vulnerable person referrals.
- Leadership – Lead a team that manages criminal justice service users or those at risk of offending.
- Developing Relationships – Lead on relationships with local prisons to ensure effective pathways for service users released into community services, ensuring smooth transitions.
- Supporting Staff – Support staff to increase the number of successful completions and reduce the number of representations to service, especially among opiate clients.
- Data – Work with staff, data analysts and partners to capture and record data appropriately, developing processes where required and ensuring reporting to external bodies such as PHE and NDTMS in line with requirements.
- Understanding – Excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience working within the Criminal Justice or related field.
- Knowledge – Knowledge of the Criminal Justice system.
- Collaboration – Experience working with Criminal Justice partnerships.
- Supportive – Knowledge of effective interventions that reduce drug‑related crime.
- 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays. An extra day of leave for each year of service during the first five years, for a total of 30 days after five years.
