- Independently review Looked After Children Reviews, Secure Accommodation Reviews, Child Sexual Exploitation meetings, and Missing from Care meetings in line with statutory requirements and guidance.
- Chair Looked After Children (LAC) Reviews, Child Protection Conferences, and Strategy Meetings to ensure compliance with the Children Act 1989 and related regulations.
- Ensure care plans are robust, outcome‑focused, and effective.
- Monitor care planning and safeguarding interventions, addressing poor practices to improve outcomes for children.
- Maintain independence while providing valuable insights and challenges to social workers, team managers, and partner agencies.
- Leverage your knowledge and experience to uphold best practices in Looked After Children legislation, processes, and regulatory framework.
- Degree in Social Work (BA/MA/DipSW or equivalent).
- Post‑qualifying training in safeguarding or leadership desirable.
- Registered with Social Work England and have an Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989 & 2004, and the IRO Handbook statutory guidance.
