We're looking for a committed Young Adult Carers worker for our Barnardo's Young Adult Carers service working alongside the Young Carers workers

• We support Young Adult Carers (18 - 25) who care for another adult
• We work closely with the Carers Centre to ensure access to inclusive respite/activities and additional support
• We are passionate about inclusion, safeguarding and positive experiences

• Office base: 109 Eaton Road, West Derby, Liverpool, L12 1LU
• The post is in-person, and worker is in/around the Liverpool City region

• 37 hours per week (Monday - Friday as a rule, may be exceptions for occasional events)
• Hours work around Young Adult Carers needs (may be after 5/6pm)

• Experience of working with 18+/young adults
• Warm, empathetic and effective communication skills
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Partnership work/multi-agency approaches
• A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection requirements
• Solution focused and young person centred

• Support in completion of statutory Carers assessments, support plans and reviews
• Case management and recording on Liquid Logic
• Positive and pro-active mindset
• Facilitate and support Young Adult Carers breaks linking in with the Carers Centre
• Liaising with partner agencies for wrap around supporting needs, referring and signposting
• Work with Team Manager & contribute to reports/monitoring
• dentifying Young Adult Carers through statutory Carers assessments
• Supporting Young Adult Carers in their caring role to reduce negative impact of caring
• Reviewing support needed and formulating plans to address those needs
