Income Officer
- Liverpool City Centre | Hybrid Working | Initial 6-Month Contract Your new company Hays are proud to be working in partnership with a leading housing organisation to recruit an experienced Income Officer on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract.

Based from Liverpool City Centre HQ this role offers a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing income team with the potential for contract extension and future opportunities.

Your New Role As an Income Officer, you will play a key role in maximising rental income and supporting customers to sustain their tenancies.

Managing your own caseload, you will take ownership of rent arrears cases from early intervention through to legal action where required, ensuring a customer-focused and proactive approach throughout.

Key responsibilities
  • Managing rent arrears and negotiating affordable repayment agreements.
  • Supporting customers with income maximisation and welfare benefit-related queries.
  • Conducting home visits and engaging directly with customers across the local area.
  • Working in partnership with internal teams and external agencies to sustain tenancies and prevent eviction.
  • Taking appropriate recovery action, including preparing cases for court where necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Contributing towards team performance targets and service improvements.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in income management, rent recovery, debt collection or a similar housing-related role.
  • Experience of managing a caseload and working towards performance targets.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits and tenancy sustainment principles.
  • The ability to work independently and effectively manage competing priorities.
