Employment Advisor

Location:

Liverpool City Centre
Salary: £26,000 per annum, increasing to £27,500 upon successful completion of probation

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent

Trigon Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a reputable national training provider for an experienced and motivated Employment Advisor to join their team in Liverpool City Centre, supporting participants on the Restart Programme.
The Restart Programme provides intensive, tailored employment support to individuals who are unemployed and referred by Jobcentre Plus. As an Employment Advisor, you will manage a caseload of participants, providing personalised one-to-one support to help them overcome barriers, build confidence and develop the skills needed to secure and sustain employment.
You will work closely with each participant to understand their individual circumstances, employment aspirations and barriers to work, developing clear and achievable action plans and providing ongoing coaching and practical support throughout their journey.
This is a target-driven but highly rewarding role, where success is measured not only through job starts but also through the ability to support participants into sustained employment.

Key Responsibilities
Caseload & Participant Management
 
Manage an allocated caseload of unemployed participants referred through Jobcentre Plus.
Complete effective initial assessments and ongoing diagnostic assessments to identify individual barriers, skills, experience and employment goals.
Build strong, professional and supportive relationships with participants to encourage engagement and progression.
Develop and regularly review individual action plans, setting clear and achievable objectives.
Maintain regular contact with participants through face-to-face appointments, telephone, digital and community-based engagement where appropriate.
Monitor participant progress and proactively address disengagement or barriers to progression.
Provide intensive and personalised support tailored to individual participant needs.
Accurately record all participant activity, outcomes and interventions on the organisation's CRM/database.  Employability Support
 
Coach, motivate and inspire participants to develop their confidence, resilience and employability skills.
Support participants to identify suitable job goals and realistic career pathways.
Develop and improve CVs, covering letters, application forms and other employability tools.
Support participants to complete high-quality job applications.
Provide interview preparation, including mock interviews, interview techniques and confidence-building.
Help participants develop effective job-search strategies and encourage independent job seeking.
Support participants with speculative applications and direct approaches to employers.
Deliver individual and group-based employability sessions where required.
Identify and address barriers such as lack of confidence, skills gaps, limited work experience or other challenges preventing progression into employment.  Employer Engagement & Job Brokerage
 
Proactively engage with local employers to identify suitable vacancies and employment opportunities.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with employers and recruitment contacts.
Source both advertised and speculative employment opportunities on behalf of participants.
Match participants to suitable vacancies based on their skills, experience, aspirations and circumstances.
Promote participants to employers and provide effective candidate introductions.
Support participants and employers throughout the recruitment process.
Develop opportunities for participants through employer engagement, networking and local labour market knowledge.
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of local employment opportunities, sectors and recruitment trends.  Supporting Participants into Sustainable Employment
 
Work proactively towards monthly job start and sustained employment targets.
Support participants not only to secure employment but to remain in work and achieve sustainable outcomes.
Provide appropriate in-work support following a participant's job start.
Maintain contact with participants after entering employment to identify and address any issues that could affect job retention.
Liaise with employers where appropriate to support successful transitions into employment.
Identify additional support, training or interventions that may help participants sustain employment.
Maximise appropriate participant funding and available support to remove barriers to employment.  Benefits, Referrals & Partnership Working
 
Complete benefit calculations and provide participants with appropriate information regarding the financial implications of moving into work.
Identify when participants may benefit from additional specialist support.
Signpost and refer participants to relevant partner organisations, training providers and community services.
