Test Automation Engineer

Bright Purple is working with a client in Liverpool to find two Senior Automation Engineers for a contract starting this month. It's a chance to join a collaborative delivery team where you'll have a real say in the quality and test automation approach.

Liverpool, onsite Tuesday to Thursday

Rate: £325 - £350 per day - Statement of Work

Start date:

12 October 2026

Duration: 3 months initially, with a view to extend by a further 6 months

You’ll design, build and maintain test automation frameworks with Playwright and Type Script. The work is hands‑on, but you’ll also be client‑facing: you’ll work closely with stakeholders, explain your approach and help raise the quality bar across the team.

• Designing, building and improving automated test suites using Playwright and Type Script
• Building robust, scalable and maintainable automation frameworks
• Working with developers, BAs and product owners to make sure quality is built in from the start
• Fitting automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Sharing progress, risks and recommendations clearly with client stakeholders
• Mentoring and supporting other team members on automation best practice

• Proven experience as a Senior Automation Engineer or in a similar role
• Strong hands‑on skills in Playwright and Type Script
• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with clients
• A collaborative, proactive approach and a good fit with the client’s people‑focused culture
• Insurance sector experience would be a real advantage, but isn’t essential

• An immediate start on a well‑paid contract
• A good chance of extending to 9 months in total
• A hybrid setup, with Mondays and Fridays at home
• Real influence over the client’s automation approach
