We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable DT Technician to join a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in Batley. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about supporting outstanding teaching and learning within the Design & Technology department.

The successful candidate must have recent experience working as a DT Technician within a UK secondary school, having undertaken a similar role within the last two years.

Key Responsibilities Prepare materials, tools and equipment for practical DT lessons. Maintain workshops and specialist teaching areas to a high standard. Support teachers and students across a range of DT disciplines, including Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering and Graphics. Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced and stored safely. Assist with stock control, ordering and organisation of resources. Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery and equipment.

Support the implementation of health and safety procedures within the department. Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with current health and safety regulations. Provide technical support for practical demonstrations and project work. Essential Requirements? Recent experience working as a DT Technician in a UK secondary school within the last two years.? Strong knowledge of workshop practices, machinery and DT equipment.?

Understanding of current health and safety legislation relevant to Design & Technology departments.? Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.? Excellent organisational and communication skills.? Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Desirable Experience supporting multiple DT specialisms. Relevant technical qualifications. First Aid qualification.
