PQA is on the lookout for a vibrant, passionate Comedy & Drama Teacher to join our weekend performing arts academy.
Are you ready to inspire the next generation of performers? Do you have experience of working with young people and relevant practical industry knowledge? Then we want to hear from you! Join PQA West Lothian and help bring new ideas to life each week.
About the RoleWe’re looking for a Comedy & Drama teacher to join our brand-new academy launching this April. You’ll be guiding students aged 6–18 through a wide mix of styles and techniques — anything from improv and stand‑up to Shakespeare, contemporary text, immersive theatre, and devised work. We’re looking for someone who can bring energy, creativity, and a genuine love of the craft into the room every week.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need either several years of professional experience or a relevant Performing Arts degree paired with hands‑on industry work, and experience teaching young people is essential. Above all, we’re looking for someone who’s truly committed to youth drama training, not just filling time between acting jobs, but genuinely excited about helping young performers grow.
We love teachers who are inspiring, dynamic, great communicators, and who bring a sense of fun to the room. Professionalism, punctuality, and a clear passion for ongoing development in your craft are all qualities we value highly.
This is a freelance role, delivered weekly on Saturdays (41 sessions per year) at Craigsfarm Community Hub, Livingston, West Lothian, from 8.45am to 12.30pm. Session pay at £70 per session (including prep time), with potential increases depending on experience and responsibilities. A PVG check is required as part of safer recruiting.
Why Join PQA West Lothian?- Join a brand-new academy with a warm, supportive, values‑led team
- Help shape a creative curriculum that builds confidence and imagination
- Enjoy the freedom to design exciting projects and explore different genres
- Make a meaningful impact on young people’s skills, wellbeing, and sense of belonging
If you’re ready to help shape confident, creative young performers, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
