Construction & Civil Engineering | West Lothian
EDM Recruitment Group are working with a well-established and growing civil engineering and utilities contractor based in West Lothian, who are looking to appoint an experienced Procurement Specialist to support their expanding project portfolio.
This is a key commercial role with responsibility for both subcontract procurement and materials buying across a range of civils and utilities works.
The Role
Reporting into the commercial team, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing procurement activities from enquiry through to appointment and supply.
Key duties include:
* Procurement of subcontract packages across civil engineering and utilities projects
* Materials buying in line with project programmes and budgets
* Preparing and issuing enquiries, reviewing returns, and negotiating commercial terms
* Developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
* Working closely with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and site teams
* Monitoring supply chain performance, lead times, and market trends
* Ensuring compliance with internal procedures and commercial objectives
The Candidate
EDM Recruitment Group are keen to speak with candidates who have:
* Proven experience in a procurement role within construction or civil engineering
* Civils and/or utilities sector experience
* Strong background in subcontract procurement and materials buying
* Good commercial awareness and understanding of construction supply chains
* Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
* Ability to manage multiple procurement packages simultaneously
Salary & Package
* Salary negotiable, circa £50,000 – £55,000, dependent on experience
* Permanent position with a reputable and stable contractor

West Lothian - with projects across Scotland
