Position: EHS Generalist (Grade P2) – Permanent Full time (37 hrs) – Raytheon UK
About the roleRaytheon UK is proud of its Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) performance and is continuing to develop tools and processes to minimise risks to our employees and the environment we operate in. The EHS Generalist provides support to the EHS and Facilities Team and guidance to management and employees across the business. The role is site‑based with multiple sites in the region and may require travel and overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities- Lead EHS projects and present plans to key stakeholders.
- Develop EHS programmes, initiate change processes and maintain EHS management systems in line with legal and corporate standards.
- Provide EHS advice and guidance, using escalation techniques when required.
- Perform risk assessment, initiate action plans and act as COSHH point of contact.
- Lead audits, inspections and incident investigations, including work at height or confined spaces.
- Prepare and present at site EHS committee meetings and support functional committee meetings.
- Chair sustainability team meetings and drive improvements in line with legislative, ISO standards and corporate requirements.
- Ensure documentation is available for legal compliance auditors.
- Assist with site compliance, continuous improvement (CORE principles) and report writing on EHS performance.
- Meet time‑based goals and contribute to team effectiveness.
- Professional qualification minimum NEBOSH General Certificate Environmental or equivalent; chemical background preferred.
- Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and UK statutory regulations concerning Environment, Health and Safety.
- Knowledge of General and Hazardous waste hierarchy, COSHH and associated requirements.
- Previous experience delivering Health & Safety training and creating audit‑ready content.
- Experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
- Proficiency in report writing and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Project management experience and high initiative.
- Member of a recognized industry body (e.g. IOSH, IEMA, IIRSM) or working toward membership.
- Analytical skills and current eligibility for MoD Secret (SC) level security clearance.
- Desirable:
Willingness to gain auditing qualifications ISO 14001/ISO 45001.
