FxProduct Development Engineer

Overview

STEM Recruitment is seeking a permanent Product Development Engineer (I) for our client, Flex Medical Solutions, based in Livingston, Scotland. You will be part of a dynamic team supporting the development of diagnostic products from concept through to manufacturing within an ISO
13485 environment.

Collaborate with senior engineers to develop solutions, design feasibility experiments, generate technical documentation, and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards. Provide hands‑on design experience, utilize modern manufacturing and metrology equipment, and apply proficiency in CAD software and statistical analysis tools.

• Degree in a technical or engineering subject (or equivalent industry experience)
• Experience with modern manufacturing equipment (lasers, robotics, liquid dispensers)
• Proficiency in CAD software such as Solidworks or Draftsight
• Ability to perform statistical analysis using Minitab
• Understanding of manufacturing methods including rapid prototyping
• Experience working within ISO
  13485 and regulatory standards (desirable)
• Knowledge of biosensor design, DFM methodologies, and validation processes (highly desirable)
