What your days will look like:
  • Develop and implement robust/repeatable manufacturing processes.
  • Ownership/responsibility of process/equipment throughout the product value stream.
  • Design for Excellence (DfX) analysis and collaboration with design teams.
  • Identify, expedite and/or escalate any quality or performance issues.
  • Achieve on‑time delivery targets.
  • Effective use of manufacturing data and analysis techniques to proactively identify and address issues, driving systemic root‑cause/corrective action.
  • Report and maintain process/equipment engineering metrics, track performance & yields against team KPIs and individual goals & objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvements through the use of best‑in‑class and world‑class manufacturing principles.
The skills and experience we’re looking for:
  • High performance engineer and self‑starter.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes over a wide range of technologies and production platforms (CCA, HLA etc.).
  • Experience working in a high reliability electronic assembly environment (defence / medical / aerospace). Applicants from a commercial electronics background are also encouraged to apply.
  • Can demonstrate contribution to specific improvements in production programs’ effectiveness efficiency and optimisation.
  • Can lead / participate in process FMEA, control plan, process flow development, review and risk mitigation processes.
  • Experienced in SPC, OEE, ESD, COSHH & risk assessment.
  • Understands the principles of Six Sigma (or equivalent methodology) and Lean manufacturing.
  • Knowledge and experience of enterprise resource planning (ERP) and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Familiarity with IPC‑A‑610 guidelines (including recent revision updates).
  • Minimum of HNC in an electronics related subject (HND/Degree preferred). Relevant industry experience will also be considered.
