Nurse Specialist CAMHS

Location:

West Lothian Out‑Patient Team, St. John’s Hospital Livingston.

Hours:

26 hours per week

Fixed term: 6 months Band 6

Salary: £39,912 – £48,635 per annum (pro rata)

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and forward‑thinking registered mental health or learning disability nurse who wishes to contribute to our vision of “Getting it right for every child” and young people with mental health problems and neuro‑developmental disorder. There are opportunities to develop skills in the assessment and treatment of a range of mental health presentations such as eating disorders, mood and psychotic disorders as well as neuro‑developmental disorders.

There are excellent opportunities for further career development through our nursing clinical career pathways.

Post holders who are new to CAMHS will have the opportunity to undertake the NES “New to CAMHS” training over a 12‑month period. NHS Lothian CAMHS has its own training budget and regularly organises internal and external training events for CAMHS clinicians.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
