Job Description
As a Registered Mental Health Nurse working in the prison healthcare system in Livingston, you will play a vital role in providing mental health care to inmates. This position offers an excellent opportunity for mental health nurses seeking consistent and meaningful work in a unique healthcare setting.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct thorough mental health assessments for inmates, identifying and diagnosing a range of mental health conditions.
Develop and implement individualized care plans, providing therapeutic interventions such as counseling, group therapy, and crisis management.
Administer and manage psychiatric medications, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to medical protocols.
Be prepared to respond to mental health crises within the prison, providing immediate care and coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and prison staff, to deliver comprehensive mental health care.
Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, complying with healthcare and prison regulations.
Adhere to all security and safety protocols, ensuring the well-being of both staff and inmates.
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid license in the United Kingdom.
- A strong commitment to delivering high-quality mental health care to all patients.
- Excellent clinical assessment, therapeutic, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a secure and challenging environment with compassion and professionalism.
- Up to Date PMVA
