IT Project Manager, Systems Administrator
We are partnering with a well‑established organisation to recruit a Head of IT who will take ownership of the technology environment. The business is continuing to evolve its technical capabilities, and this role will be central to improving systems reliability, strengthening security, and ensuring technology supports day‑to‑day activity across the organisation.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands‑on with systems and infrastructure while also guiding a small team. A great opportunity for someone stepping into their first Head of IT role to progress their career.
As Head of IT, you will be responsible for the smooth running, stability, and continual improvement of the organisation’s technology estate. You will work directly with colleagues across different functions to ensure systems meet business needs and issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and maintain the organisation’s core systems, including networks, servers, cloud platforms, and end‑user technology
- Lead technical improvements, upgrades, and system changes to ensure performance, reliability, and long‑term sustainability
- Manage the organisation’s security tools, monitoring activity and responding to incidents when they arise
- Take responsibility for the effective operation of business systems such as ERP, CRM, and related platforms
- Provide direction, support, and coaching to the IT team to help them deliver a responsive and customer‑focused service
- Oversee technology‑related suppliers and service partners, ensuring services are delivered as agreed
- Manage IT‑related spending, renewals, and procurement to keep systems cost‑effective and fit for purpose
- Strong track record in managing IT infrastructure, networks, cloud services, and security controls.
- Experience supporting or administering business‑critical systems such as ERP or CRM platforms.
- Solid understanding of backup strategies, resilience planning, and security frameworks.
- Clear communicator able to explain technical issues in straightforward, business‑friendly terms.
- Proactive problem‑solver who prioritises system stability, reliability, and continuous improvement.
