Head of Domain - Residential Products

As a Head of Domain within Sky Data, you will be accountable for leading multi-disciplined teams across Data Engineering, Product, Solution Architecture and Delivery capabilities to deliver data-driven outcomes for the business. You will develop and grow globally distributed teams, including support from third-party suppliers. You will create strong partnerships with senior executives, delivering high profile initiatives that enable our wider business strategy.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, making complex prioritisation decisions to ensure we deploy our teams across the most impactful initiatives. You’ll form part of the Directorate Senior Leadership Team and the Division’s Extended Leadership Team. Accordingly, you’ll play a critical role in shaping and delivering our shared strategic objectives in your areas and across Sky Data.

Our Residential Products Domain is part of the Customer Directorate within Sky Data. It’s where we build and maintain data products and data assets for Sky’s Connectivity business – including Sky Broadband and Sky Mobile – as well as Sky TV and Sky Protect. We work within the Value Streams, as part of cross-functional teams driving exciting roadmaps; we also support broader work where we help to transform how things get done.

• Lead and grow multidisciplined teams across engineering, delivery and product, supporting colleagues to succeed and develop in line with Sky’s values and behaviours; foster a collaborative, supportive team culture, ensuring people feel empowered, connected and aligned to shared expectations and standards.
• Oversee end-to-end delivery of data products, maintaining quality, efficiency and strong engineering standards in partnership with Principal Engineers, Data Engineers and Solution Architects; set, uphold and manage core delivery and performance standards across all teams within your domain.
• Ensure resources are aligned to priority work, removing impediments and making clear, thoughtful prioritisation decisions to maximise business impact; lead our Product Owners in defining and communicating a clear product roadmap aligned to business priorities and transparently articulating value.
• Partner with teams across Sky to understand business strategies and translate them into meaningful data products and outcomes and creating new business cases to secure investment where possible; engage and influence senior stakeholders, helping them understand and support how your teams enable their plans and roadmaps.
• Inspire business teams in the power of data, shaping opportunities and expanding their understanding of what is possible through strong collaboration.
• Drive effective delivery planning and execution, managing risks, actions and dependencies while coordinating across matrixed teams, multiple locations, suppliers and delivery methodologies to ensure on-time, on-budget outcomes.

• Leadership:a proven track recordof successfully leading and developing large, multi-disciplinary teams whilst role-modelling our values and behaviours; you’ll already be operating at a leadership level.
• Data:you will have worked in a data or technology function and gained strong practical exposure to and understanding of the concepts of data engineering and how these are combined to deliver outcomes for end-users.
