We have an exciting temporary opportunity for a team-oriented, results driven individual to join our busy Goods In and Production teams asa General Operative at our UK head office.

Reporting to the Operations Manager (Production and Stock Control), you will be required to undertake daily operational tasks to meet customer demand. This will mainly involve working in receiving deliveries and stock management and efficiently packing products on the production line but is not restricted to these areas and you may be required to work in any of the Operations departments.

Wahl UK is a long established and very successful subsidiary of Wahl Clipper Corporation. Our offices are located near the south-east coastal town of Ramsgate, Kent.

Key responsibilities and tasks:

  • Receive deliveries, stock management & preservation of goods.
  • Identify and report non-conforming products and suppliers.
  • Check goods in against delivery notes for accuracy and damages.
  • Receipt deliveries promptly and accurately, matching relevant data and documents.
  • Support the delivery planning process & assist with inventory accuracy.
  • Unload containers and deliveries and repetitive movement of stock.
  • Storage and rotation of stock in accordance with established procedures.
  • Typically, you may be required to lift parcels up to 20kg, manual handling equipment is available for heavier loads.
  • Efficiently and accurately pack products according to company standards and customer specifications. Process waste reduction initiatives.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of your working area.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous warehousing knowledge.
  • Use of warehousing equipment: pallet trucks, powered trucks etc.
  • Use of handheld scanning device (HHT) for stock capture
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, literacy, and maths, for inventory management.
  • Flexibility, commitment, and punctuality.
  • Be proactive in problem solving and able to work methodically.
  • Good communication skills & organisational abilities.
  • Process driven and solution focussed.
  • Working to deadlines in a sometimes-pressurised environment.
  • Initiative to work alone or as part of a team, taking ownership of key areas.

Training will be provided in all the above
