Job Purpose

This role reports to the QC Manager and provides hands‑on support with general quality control laboratory tasks and material management in a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment. Attention to detail, accurate documentation, and clear written communication are essential. You will also need a solid understanding of laboratory safety practices and a genuine passion for science.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Conduct and support routine housekeeping duties
  • Conduct sampling in accordance with relevant SOPs
  • Order consumables and reagents and check stock levels
  • Receive, label and inspect raw materials
  • Perform quality checks on incoming packaging components and retain samples
  • Perform quality checks (appearance and leak) on bulk and packed products
  • Prepare samples and reagents for analysts as required
  • Release testing of primary and secondary packaging raw materials
  • Perform visual inspections of equipment for cleaning verification
  • Perform cleaning verification by HPLC within clean rooms, when trained
  • Perform basic calibrations, when trained

Apprentice Lab Technician
  • Composed; cool under pressure and energized by challenges
  • Demonstrates integrity and trust, presents facts appropriately, keeps confidences and admits mistakes
  • Makes good decisions based on analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment
  • Sets priorities and works effectively under minimal supervision
Specific

Job Skills
  • Willing to study for a relevant qualification
  • Communicates well in written media with a focus on report writing
  • Works with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrates high attention to detail
  • Has a keen interest in Life Sciences/Pharma industries
Computer Skills

Must be competent with MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, as well as email and internet usage.

Literacy and Numeracy

Must have excellent written English communication skills and proficiency in reading and maths.
