Overview
Sparky Electric is a leading electrical contractor specializing in medium to large‑scale multi‑family residential projects. We are seeking a Certified Electrician to join our dynamic team. This role offers a project bonus and an hourly rate of $29–$45.

Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in compliance with relevant codes.
- Assemble, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment and hand tools, locate the cause of a breakdown, and correct the problem.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other electrical components.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and determine needed adjustments or repairs, ensuring compliance with codes.
- Test electrical systems for continuity using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure safety.
- Maintain current electrician’s license or identification card to comply with governmental regulations.
- Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and ensure conformance with building and safety codes.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment including power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
- Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.
- Perform business management duties such as maintaining records, preparing reports, and ordering supplies and equipment.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside walls or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
- Construct and fabricate parts using hand tools and specifications.
- Perform physical tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.
- Certified Electrician with 8000 hours of experience in General Service or 4800 hours in Residential Service, and a valid state license per the Department of Industrial Relations.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Excellent communication skills and the capacity to train and supervise junior staff.
