Position: Payment Processor/ Poster - Patient Financial Services

Responsible for the processing of payments and adjustments according to established procedures for Livingston Health Care patient accounts.

Schedule:
  • 1.0

    FTE (40 hours)
  • Mon-Fri
  • 8:00am- 4:30pm
Compensation:
  • $21.20/hr + DOE

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS,

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Open, distribute and organize daily mail.
  • Audit and prepare insurance EOB’s for accurate posting.
  • Process EOB’s for secondary billing according to the established procedure.
  • Electronic posting of payments according to established procedure.
  • Calculate and apply contractual adjustments according to established procedure.
  • Resolve credit balances according to established refund procedure.
  • Scan all payments and documents according to established procedure.
  • Distribute “on Account” money according to established procedure.
  • Post 5% self-pay discounts from report after being reviewed by PFS Supervisor daily.
  • Cross train for other duties as requested by Manager.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding all areas of the organization.
  • Must be well groomed, tactful, patient, pleasant, and customer focused.
  • Assist with other tasks related to the posting, distribution and processing of daily payments and correspondence as requested by the department supervisor or manager.
  • Adheres completely to HIPPA regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS (Required):
  • To perform this job successfully, the essential duties must be completed satisfactorily.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Education and experience is representative of the knowledge scale and or ability required.
  • Two years customer service, medical or business office experience.
  • Minimum of two years computer experience which includes Microsoft Word, Excel or similar programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to be accurate and attentive to detail.
