The Clinical Quality Coordinator is responsible for promoting and maintaining quality patient care, identifying quality improvement opportunities, assessing in real time the quality of patient care, assisting in teaching nursing staff and evaluating compliance with current procedures, policies, practices and standards of the facility.
The Clinical Quality Coordinator coordinates all aspects of targeted clinical indicators from abstraction, analysis of documentation, format, and dissemination of knowledge. Translates clinical documentation into data elements for the purpose of driving quality improvement in all areas of clinical quality. Collaborates with departmental staff and managers to identify deficiencies in documentation based on clinical profile of patients and assures integrity of database for key clinical indicators, can do basic analysis of data using statistical data to create knowledge base.

- Routine review of clinical documentation using all sources of data to ensure care provided meets expected standards of care
- Evaluation of low occurrence / high risk events to identify trends and to ensure standard of care was provided. Provide education related to events reported as requested.
- Assists with development and implementation of valid tools and methods for collection of data. Accurately abstracts data for quality improvement and reporting.
- Recognize deficiencies in statistical data and takes steps to validate and assist in development of statistical analytical standards for data output to ensure high degree of accuracy.
- Seek reliable sources and maintain currency and availability of knowledge related to healthcare statistics, comparative databases, medical organization standards and guidelines for benchmarking.
- Participate in evaluation of effectiveness of clinical quality programs by maintaining and providing overview and summary documents.
- Ensure regulatory requirements relevant to the Conditions of Participation with CMS for Critical Access Hospitals are met.
- Participate in quality improvement programs and documentation of clinical outcomes.
- Develop and implement methods, policies, and procedures to improve the departments’ efficiency and overall effectiveness based on current practice recommendations.
- Proficiency in research methods and the use of Word, Excel, and other data bases.

QUALIFICATIONS (Required):- RN license
- Minimum of 5 years nursing experience in acute care settings
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated experience in clinical nursing skills
