Building Director

The City of Livingston Building Department is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as Director. The principal function of this class is to plan, direct, and supervise building plan and permit reviews and inspections to support the administration and enforcement of applicable Federal, State, and local building codes and ordinances to ensure the health and safety of all area residents.

The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establishes and maintains effective working relationships with City employees and the general public. This position works under the direction of the City Manager and is responsible for complex oversight of building codes, activities, contracts, budgets, and ongoing daily and special project management.
