Utility Locate Technician

Union Position – ELM Utility Services offers a great opportunity for a Utility Locate Technician in Livingston, Montana. Technicians ensure gas, electric, and communication systems remain dependable and well maintained by marking utilities to prevent damage during excavation. Advanced LaunchPoint software is used for marking.

Hourly Pay
: $21.22 – $33.01/hr.

Cost-of-Living Supplement

If you reside in specific ZIP codes, you will receive a supplement as follows (only for the time you physically reside there).

• $4.00/hr supplement for ZIP codes 59715, 59716, 59718, 59730
• $3.00/hr supplement for ZIP codes 59714, 59741

Roles & Responsibilities
:

• Work independently outdoors with a company‑provided vehicle acting as a mobile office; complete a route of locate requests each day.
• Accurately, safely, and efficiently locate and mark underground utilities using paint, flags, and sometimes whiskers.
• Use mobile work system to receive daily tasks.

Qualifications
:

• Pass pre‑employment drug screen, motor vehicle record, and background check.
• Position is Safety‑Sensitive DOT and must comply with all federal DOT regulations; use of marijuana (medical or recreational) is prohibited.
• High School diploma or GED; minimum age 18.
• Valid driver's license.
