Horizon Staffing Resources is seeking two dedicated Special Education Life Skills Homeroom Teachers to support students with disabilities in developing essential academic, daily living, social, and vocational skills. This role focuses on preparing students for greater independence through structured, hands‑on instruction in both classroom and real‑world settings.

• Serve as homeroom teacher and provide Language Arts instruction to assigned students each morning
• Teach Life Skills curriculum throughout the school day, including daily living and functional academics
• Deliver hands‑on instruction in kitchen, dining, laundry, bedroom, and hygiene skill areas
• Support development of social skills, communication, and appropriate classroom behaviors
• Provide pre‑vocational and vocational readiness instruction
• Adapt lessons and instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and IEP goals
• Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and school staff
• Maintain accurate documentation, lesson plans, and student progress reports

• Valid New Jersey Special Education certification required:
• Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD)
• Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH – legacy certification)
• Experience teaching students with disabilities in a Life Skills or special education setting preferred
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to provide hands‑on, functional instruction in real‑life learning environments

• Bachelor’s degree with passing Praxis Exam
• NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification
