What You’ll DoWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Center Electrical Engineer to play a key role in the design and delivery of electrical infrastructure for our data center facilities. This individual will lead technical design efforts, review consultant work, and ensure that our electrical systems meet the highest standards of performance, efficiency, and scalability. Travel is required to visit various data center sites.
Responsibilities- Execute electrical engineering design tasks for new data center facilities, including build-to-suit, self-performed, and tenant fit‑out projects.
- Develop electrical design solutions that enhance speed of deployment, scalability, and repeatability for hyperscale data center sites.
- Contribute innovative design concepts and technical approaches to improve efficiency, reliability, and constructability.
- Support whitespace fit‑outs by developing electrical layouts, validating load capacities, coordinating with IT/operations, and ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Participate in new site due diligence, including evaluation of utility availability, site power constraints, and electrical infrastructure readiness.
- Review electrical striping plans to verify loads are properly distributed upstream, ensuring balanced operation under normal and fail‑over conditions.
- Review design drawings, specifications, and shop drawings prepared by consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with Basis of Design and company standards.
- Coordinate closely with third‑party consultants, vendors, and internal project teams (IT, operations, mechanical, and project management) to ensure complete and cohesive designs.
- Perform technical calculations and studies (short‑circuit, coordination, arc‑flash, load flow, etc.) to validate system performance and safety.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, regulations, and safety protocols throughout design and construction.
- Participate in factory witness testing, site inspections, and commissioning activities to verify proper installation and operation of electrical systems.
- Provide technical input on budgets, schedules, and resource planning to support project execution.
- Support troubleshooting and corrective action efforts related to electrical design and implementation.
- Contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence within the engineering team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering;
Professional Engineering license preferred. - 7+ years of data center engineering experience with a proven track record of completing design projects.
- Strong knowledge of data center electrical systems: substations, emergency generators, UPS, lithium‑ion battery plants, and fire alarm.
- Familiarity with EPMS and/or SCADA systems and ability to develop control sequences and monitoring protocols.
- Experience with large‑scale, high‑density data centers and cloud infrastructure.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Uptime Institute, BICSI) are a plus.

- Competitive base salary $122,000‑$179,000, adjustable by experience and market.
