Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business takes place at three wholly‑owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware;
Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Point Comfort, Texas.
This pivotal role supports the FPC plants in Point Comfort, TX, and Louisiana, LA, focusing on enhancing plant operations and reliability. Working within a collaborative team environment, the engineer implements reliability best practices, optimizes preventive maintenance tasks and supports maintenance activities. The role actively interacts with other technical groups on‑site—Operation/Process engineering and Maintenance—as well as peers and vendors/suppliers to resolve issues and enhance overall plant reliability and performance.
In addition, the engineer monitors and analyzes the performance of various plant production and maintenance units to identify deficiencies and ensures activities align with policies, procedures and guidelines. The position oversees production budget reviews, incentive/value creation evaluations, performance scorecard calculations, production performance reports, various cost analyses, and troubleshooting production issues, and plays a key role in reviewing improvement projects such as B‑1/B‑2/B‑4/B‑5/PE‑7 and PRs.

- Conduct reviews and studies on related capital improvement projects submitted (B‑1/B‑2/B‑4/B‑5/PE‑7).
- Apply value analysis to decisions regarding repair/replace, repair/redesign, and make/buy.
- Lead or participate in incident investigations and root‑cause analyses.
- Address and troubleshoot plant production issues through daily production reports and monthly operation deficiency reports.
- Perform various cost analyses for operational insights.
- Conduct a thorough review of the production budget.
- Assess and review incentive/value creation initiatives.
- Calculate performance scorecards for operational evaluation.
- Prepare necessary routing reports on a quarterly, semi‑annual, and annual basis.
- Thoroughly review and assess purchase requests (PR) submissions.
- Conduct audits on procedures and systems for compliance.
- Undertake additional projects or assignments as directed by the manager.
- Monitor equipment performance and propose improvement recommendations.
- Collaborate with peers both on‑site and across the company.
- Provide technical support/expertise during the design and installation stages of projects for new assets and modification of existing assets to minimize life‑cycle cost and maximize asset availability.
- Offer technical support within your discipline to production, maintenance, project, and process engineering groups.
