Pay Range: $22.80 - $28.84 per hour

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position vast to several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

• Intake of new prescriptions, including pertinent patient information and answering the department phone.
• Prepare / package medications for pharmacist verification.
• Interpret and calculate data entry for prescriptions / insurance information.
• Call insurance companies to resolve issues.
• Initiate prior authorization process.
• Assist in pharmacy inventory management: inventory returns, restocking shelves, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, monitoring for outdated drugs, and physical inventory preparation.
• Assist patients and ring out sales at POS while providing quality customer service in a timely manner.
• Process bank deposits.
• Assist with prescription filing.
• Follow USP medication regulations when required.
• Record the temperatures of the refrigerator and ambient room as required by NJ Board of Pharmacy.
• Assist with ordering and maintaining the OTC (over-the-counter) section within the department.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: One year of retail pharmacy with strong data entry experience required; must be at least 18 years of age and demonstrate command of the English language as required by NJ Board of Pharmacy regulations. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred or equivalent experience.

Licensure: Must maintain an active pharmacy technician registration as required by NJ Board of Pharmacy.

Scheduling Requirements: Full Time, Day and some weekends when necessary. Clocking in/out for shifts is required.

• Receive prescription requests from customers (new/refill) and process them accurately.
• Assist the pharmacist with accurate filling and labeling of prescriptions.
• Interpret and calculate data entry for prescriptions/insurance information and initiate prior authorizations.
• Work with attention to detail, understanding that errors may have serious consequences.
• Be proficient in use of pharmacy and other departmental software as required for the position.
• Ad scramble to all necessary policies and procedures regarding CII to CV inventory control.
• Retrieve customer prescription for pick‑up and verify correct patient as per policy and procedures.
• Operate cash register (POS) to accept payments and signatures from customers.
• Provide quality customer service and answer phones in a timely manner.

• Check wholesaler orders for accuracy and efficiency, resolving discrepancies.
• File paperwork/records as defined by company and federal/state regulations.
• Assist the department with pharmacy inventory management, inventory returns, and outdated medications.
• Display inventory awareness, ensuring order quantities are optimal based on usage and shelf levels.
• Maintain and merchandize OTC section per market demands; place daily orders and returns with wholesaler.
