Job Overview

The Cancer Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center partners with Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey to deliver the highest level of oncology care, including clinical trials, to patients and families in Livingston, New Jersey. You will provide collaborative physician-based care with appropriate levels of autonomy, focusing on high quality and safety to support this high-risk patient population. This position is focused in the inpatient area.

Qualifications
  • APSHO Cancer Therapy Prescribing Course Certificate OR AOCNP Certification required to prescribe chemotherapy/biotherapy
  • Graduate from an Accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of New Jersey
  • Master’s prepared in Nursing from an accredited program
  • BLS and ACLS certified
  • 1‑2 years hem/malignancy experience preferred
  • CDS and DEA
Scheduling Requirements
  • Full time
  • 40 Hours
  • Weekend Rotation
Essential Functions
  • Performs comprehensive initial and episodic health assessments to identify existing or potential health problems.
  • Initiates and implements individualized nursing and medical plan of care in collaboration with members of multidisciplinary team.
  • Initiates appropriate diagnostic, therapeutic, medical and nursing actions in conjunction with physicians.
  • Provides follow‑up care including acute and routine examinations.
  • Assesses progress, identifies problems, initiates preventive measures, recognizes emergent problems and initiates proper care in collaboration with physicians.
  • Monitors and adjusts patients medication according to protocol or medical plan of care including adequate pain control.
