Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Programs and Instructional Services
Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent, this Administrative Assistant supports elementary schools, principals, and secretaries in meeting state and district deadlines. The role requires effective communication and collaboration with administrators, teachers, and parents across in‑person, phone, and email. Responsibilities also include supporting district core priorities such as climate goals, fostering a positive culture, respectful interactions, and flexible teamwork.

- Carry out other duties assigned by the Assistant Superintendent.
- High school diploma or GED, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- At least five years of experience as an administrative assistant or secretary.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Passionate commitment to work with district staff.
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal relationships.
- Evidence of ability to establish positive working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Exemplary organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal.
- Organize work, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Serve as a resource for school secretaries in elementary schools and the Division of Instruction.
- Flexibility and willingness to accept responsibility.
- Accurately prepare, proofread, and process correspondence.
- Proficiency with PC‑based Microsoft Office, Google applications, MiStar, and SMART.
- Accurately input and complete payroll reports for department staff and teacher stipends.
- Prepare and maintain requisitions and purchase orders.
- Track multiple budget codes and balances.
- Quick learning and minimal supervision.
- Create and maintain accurate electronic and hardcopy records.
The position is 260 days/year, non‑union, with insurance benefits. Specific details will be discussed during the interview and at hiring.
