The Senior Mortgage Closer is responsible for scheduling Conventional, Construction, FHA, MISHDA, RD, and VA loan closings and compiling and typing closing documents. The position is also responsible for calculating and preparing final figures for loan interest, principal payment, and closing costs.

• Verifying employment for borrower through third party sites such as The Work Number by Equifax within 10 days of closing. If not on site, reach out to companies directly via phone, fax, or email, as necessary.
• Reviewing reports, preparing all loans for funding and working directly with wire department for sending required funds for mortgage closings.
• Reviewing reports to identify loans that require closing confirmation. Obtaining closing confirmation from Title Companies, and reviewing documents to complete the Disburse/Purchase action as required.
• Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

• Three to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
• High school degree or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of the different requirements for closing Conventional, Construction, FHA, MISHDA, RD and VA loans, as well as an understanding of the differences between refinance and purchase transactions.
• Demonstrates courtesy and tact in frequent interactions with customers and internal and external partners, clearly communicating routine information, instructions, updates, and referrals.
• Performs non-complex arithmetic calculations for closing activities and effectively mediates potential issues between buyers, sellers, and realtors.
