Location:
Livonia, MI Compensation:
Direct-hire with NYX, $30–$35 per hour
What your day looks like
You’ll be the hands-on problem solver who keeps our injection molding operation running at peak performance. From diagnosing electrical faults to rebuilding pneumatic systems and performing precision mechanical repairs, you’ll ensure uptime across molding machines and plant support equipment.
Core responsibilities
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain injection molding machines and associated production systems.
Perform electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic diagnostics and corrective actions.
Execute preventive and predictive maintenance; complete work orders and maintenance check documentation.
Support a wide range of assets: molding machines, robots, thermolators, dryers, conveyors, air compressors, vacuum pumps, building utilities, and other plant systems.
Follow lockout/tagout and plant safety procedures; uphold 5S housekeeping standards; report safety concerns and injuries promptly.
Apply basic knowledge of TS16949 and the company’s Quality Policy in daily work.
Complete additional maintenance tasks and training as assigned.
Required background
At least 3 to 4 years of hands-on maintenance experience with plastic injection molding equipment used to produce automotive interior components.
Note:
General maintenance experience or process setup/mold-setting experience alone does not meet this requirement.
Mechanical aptitude and either a minimum Associate Degree or equivalent maintenance experience.
Experience in an industrial production environment is desired.
Strong troubleshooting abilities; flexibility to work a variable schedule and overtime on short notice.
Solid understanding of safety practices in an industrial setting.
Technical proficiencies
Electrical Troubleshooting Skills;
Electrical Systems Diagnostics & Repair Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills Pneumatics Experience and Pneumatics Troubleshooting Single and Three Phase Power Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
Electrical Schematic Reading;
Blueprint Reading Maintenance and Repair Skills Experience in a Manufacturing Environment Injection Molding Experience Electrical Systems & Diagnostics (Heavy Equipment)
Tools and technologies you’ll use Voltage Detector Multimeter Injection Molding Machines:
Milacron, Toshiba, Van Dorn, Engel, Husky, Haitian Physical demands
Standing – frequently required on concrete floor when repairing equipment
Walking – sometimes required during repairing or doing maintenance
Lifting – frequent lifting from floor to waist level
Reaching – frequently extending arms and hands in front of body and below the waist when repairing machines
Turning/twisting – required all the time to perform job functions
Bending/stooping – occasionally required
