Registered Nurse RN - Unit Manager - Medical Telemetry Progressive Care

Join Saint Joseph Mercy Health System as a Registered Nurse RN - Unit Manager in Medical Telemetry Progressive Care. This full‑time day shift role requires a Michigan registered nursing license, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Master's preferred), and at least three years of leadership experience in a related health care setting.

Position Purpose
  • The Nurse Manager is accountable for patient care during a designated timeframe. Responsibilities include coordination and evaluation of care, teaching and delegating patient activities to the health care team via the nursing process.
  • Serves as a member of the organization’s nursing leadership team, responsible for day‑to‑day operations, scheduling, staffing, and 24/7 accountability for patient care delivery, planning, and evaluation of services for one or more clinical areas.
  • Participates in and supports strategic development and outcomes management of nursing clinical areas.
  • Reviews and evaluates operations and services in accordance with business requirements, marketplace trends, and technological needs.
  • Provides clinical and administrative leadership for planning, organizing, directing, monitoring, and evaluating safe and superior quality patient care, ensuring the advancement of clinical practice and patient care for the unit.
  • Collaborates with and supports the director and key leaders, groups, and stakeholder audiences in the development and implementation of operational plans, goals, and objectives.
Education and Experience
  • State of Michigan Registered Nursing license required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required;
    Master’s degree in Nursing, Business, or Health Administration preferred.
  • Minimum of three years leadership experience in a related health care setting; five years preferred.
