Position Title
M.D.S. RN
Position SummaryResponsible for completing MDS Assessments according to Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Ensures completion of RAI.
- Inputs data into the RAI computer system.
- Assists with ensuring the completion of the RAI by the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Screens each Minimum Data Set (MDS) for accuracy before finalizing, locking, and signing.
- Assist Interdisciplinary staff with Medicare review via chart audit.
- Ensure that Change of condition RAIs are initiated when appropriate.
- Review chart documentation to reflect the need for the care and services the resident receives.
- Ensure RAI/MDS software is functioning properly.
- Work closely with the state RAI/MDS automation coordinator.
- Utilize the Internet for research and information gathering for changes in the RAI and Medicare process.
- Act as a liaison to the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Perform other duties incidental to the position and as delegated by the Administrator.
