Trinity Health Livonia is a full‑service, 304‑bed acute care hospital located in Livonia, MI, providing comprehensive care including a 24‑hour emergency department, general medicine, inpatient and outpatient surgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, intensive care unit, cancer, cardiology, geriatrics, and birthing and women’s health. General

Summary:

The Security Officer is often the first and last employee interacting with the public. Working under the direction of the Lead Officer in Charge, the Security Officer is responsible for patrolling assigned areas, observing signs of unauthorized entry and safety compromises within and around the facility, and responding to all orders from legitimate authorities of St. Mary Hospital, provided they do not violate the law or put another person in danger.

The Security Officer must demonstrate excellent public relations and social skills at all times.

Experience: Six to Twelve months of related experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred. Military police, professional police officer training, or certification desirable. Previous work in security (e.g., police, military, security services) desirable. Basic knowledge of security functions in a health‑care setting desirable. Must be personable, polite, helpful, even‑tempered, and possess good verbal skills. Must handle stressful situations and communicate with upset or confused persons.

CPR certified within six months of hire. Modified CPI training within six months of hire.
