Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Livonia

Livonia, MI | $30–$42+/hr | Full-Time

Good with a wrench? Better with a multimeter, pressure gauge and service manual? We’re looking for technicians who like figuring out what’s wrong and getting equipment back to work.

This is a shop or field technician opening with room for all experience levels. Heavy equipment experience is great, but strong diesel, automotive, ag or industrial mechanics are encouraged to apply.

You’ll see everything from routine PM work to electrical, hydraulic and mechanical diagnostics.

• Diesel engine and mechanical repairs
• Hydraulic system diagnostics and repairs
• Electrical troubleshooting
• Drivetrain and powertrain work
• PMs and equipment inspections
• Troubleshoot problems and diagnose the actual failure
• Remove and install components
• Install attachments and aftermarket kits
• Welding and fabrication as needed
• Test equipment after repairs
• Complete service documentation

The shop keeps machines moving through repairs, PMs and diagnostics.

The field keeps customer equipment running on-site. You’ll have a service truck, and when field work slows down, you can come back into the shop and stay productive.

No CDL needed for the service truck. Have a CDL? There are CDL trucks available.

• Heavy equipment, diesel, automotive, agricultural, industrial or similar experience
• Solid mechanical aptitude
• Hydraulic/electrical experience is a plus
• Comfortable troubleshooting instead of just throwing parts at a problem
• Professional hand tools
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable and able to work independently
• Willing to learn and take on more as your skills grow

• $30–$42+/hr

• Monday–Friday. 7:30 AM–5:00 PM
• Average 45–50 hours/week
• Saturdays are rare
