    28 hours 45 minutes
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, term time only (38 weeks). 5 hours 45 minutes per day.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of food preparation and service, ensuring that cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained and providing excellent customer service to our pupils and staff.

This post is for 28 hours and 45 minutes per week.

We offer an ‘annualised’ pay scheme so that staff who work term time receive pay over 52 weeks. This role offers a suitable entry point for those looking to start or change a career in catering.

An Enhanced with Barred List Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required for this role. It is an offence to apply if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children or adults at risk.

The Candidate
  • The ability to run an efficient kitchen to include the preparation and serving of nutritious and appetising meals.
  • Experience in maintaining hygiene standards in kitchens.
  • The ability to provide varied meals for a range of special diets.
  • The ability to build good relationships with adults and children based on mutual respect.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to lead a team.
  • Basic IT skills and the ability to complete all required paperwork when running an efficient kitchen to include the ordering and management of stock.
  • Basic conversational Welsh – Level 2

You will need:

  • A positive attitude and the willingness to learn new skills.
  • A food hygiene certificate and previous experience in a catering or hospitality role. This would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Flexibility and the willingness to assist with other duties.
