Salary: Grade 6 Point 11 to Point 14 £ 28,142 to £29,540 per annum pro rata £14.58 to £15.31 per hour

Ysgol Trefonnen is a dual stream, voluntary controlled, community focussed Church in Wales school for children aged 4-11 years; some of our children learn entirely through the medium of Welsh and some through English. However, all our pupils share the common experience of living and learning in Wales. Within the school building, we have seven classrooms, two pre-school Early Years groups (Welsh and English medium), two Welsh Government funded Flying Start settings, a beneficial Food & Fun Summer Holiday Club and hugely successful Community Fridge.

Early

Years Leader (permanent)

12.5 hours per week - Feb 23rd 2026 onwards

We currently have an opportunity for an Early Years Leader to join our reliable, hardworking and efficient team.

Responsibilities
  • has achieved a level 3 qualification that is recognised on the Care Council for Wales' current list of Accepted Qualifications for the Early Years, or is willing to work towards this qualification.
  • has a sound understanding of Early Years principles & practice and
  • would:
  • be responsible for the day to day running of the setting including the supervision and support of staff
  • ensure the planning, delivery and review of high-quality play-based experiences and activities
  • be responsible for the setting's policies, self-evaluation, child assessments and record keeping
  • maintain a welcoming, safe and well organised learning environment
  • be a good language role model
  • support children consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs.
Work Pattern

12.5 hrs - Mon to Thurs, 1 - 3.30 currently, but likely to change to morning hours plus 1.5 hrs admin time.
